Europe Tour! - Prague, Parma, London, Vienna, Milan, Paris, Luxemburg, Essen, Madrid, and Seville!
|
After such a long and dark period, I am truly feeling hopeful for this upcoming season! With theatres really welcoming audiences once again, performing fully staged productions, in the presence of full audiences, I have been emotionally overwhelmed since I started work on Rigoletto in London!
I want to thank every person that has made it to a performance. Your support going forward is what will keep our beautiful art form resonating even more spectacularly! So…after Rigoletto at the Royal Opera House, we’ve got La traviata there, and a series of concerts of Händel’s Theodora, which will tour throughout Europe. And in December I start rehearsals at La Scala for Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi…a role debut for me as Giulietta!
In October I’ve got a couple of concerts in Prague and Parma. My bel canto recital program is constantly changing and both of these concerts will feature different repertoire. We like to keep things fresh! And in December it’ll be a totally NEW experience, in a recital of Zarzuela arias at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid and an encore performance in Seville at the Teatro de la Maestranza!
I cannot wait to bring all these amazing dream programs to real audiences!

Lisette Oropesa remains one of the leading lyric coloraturas working today. There is richness and oaky color in her lower register – redolent of Callas – which gives the character a power and gravitas that twittering glittering approaches rule out. Her “Caro nome” received a thunderous reception, and most of the passagework and high notes shone – particularly that trill
— Benjamin Poore • OperaWire
Oropesa makes a matchless Gilda, singing with an extraordinary beauty of tone and understated depth of feeling: this really is one of the truly great performances.
— Tim Ashley • The Guardian
Oropesa exhibited a beautiful incisiveness in the recitative, then performing the aria with perfect musicality and a sweet and vibrant sound, before the acrobatic cabaletta where the precision of the trills was supported by exceptional breath control and was always accompanied by an expressive reason. Very remarkable then in the articulation of the sentence, clear and devoid of any artifice, in the intense patheticity of "Adieu, notre petite table" by Manon of Massenet.
— Fabio Larovere • Conessi all'Opera
The voice, with its lyrical timbre, is homogeneous throughout, soft, round, rich in harmonics in the centers, it rises easily without the need to have the boldness of the light colored voices and maintains firmness and body even in the severe region. Supported by a masterly legate, the instrumental precision with which she rattles off the accents and, among these the most difficult, the trill is striking. Precision that gives firmness to the singing line, always controlled even in moments of greatest expressiveness.
— Paolo Malaspina • Wanderer

Reflections
We’ve reached the beginning of a very promising season and I’ve got so much faith going forward, I can hardly contain it! With every new leaf that turns this season, I’ll be counting immense numbers of blessings.
There is nothing more important than love and health, and every day that I count myself as fortunate enough to have both of those, I’ll be thankful to see the sun rise.
